1999 Mustang Cobra suddenly stops
The Ford Dealer said the Instrument Cluster needs to be replaced based on the error codes they received, but they couldn't get the parts. We had them rip out the aftermarket alarm system as we were unable to get the car to fire up while in our driveway.
After they took out the aftermarket alarm it seemed good, but the last couple days it has been really bad. While driving the car shuts off, and the odometer shows a bunch of dashes. It eventually restarts.
I am wondering what the problem could be. I was thinking maybe a problem with the wires that Ford joined back together or maybe the coil.
I have worked on old cars 1985 and older but nothing like this mustang.

It could be the splice used to connect the two wires again. Make sure it is nice and secure and not damaged. Hopefully they soldered it with heat shrink instead of cheaping out and using a butt-connector. Butt-connectors are prone to wiggling loose and corroding.
