Price check - 1995 Mustang
Hello
After wanting a Mustang for over 10 years I am finally going to get one.
I am looking at buying a friends 1995 Mustang with a 3.8/5 speed. I don't have a clue what these are worth... and online pricing guides vary quite a bit. The car is a '95 with 192,000 miles and a 3.8 with a 5 speed manual. The car is fairly basic - no power windows or locks, no cd, etc... It needs new door pins, the paint on the door is peeling off, and the driver seat is worn a bit. I drove it today and it ran/drove just fine. How is a fair price? I think the price will be between $1500 and $2000. Is 192,000+ too many miles? Are there any specific trouble areas I should check out?

that is a lot of miles, but how was the car maintaind? is the owner a slob, does he change his oil every 3000k miles or does he let it go untill he gets a chance 5-6000. it really all depends, but i think that 192,000 is to many
Don't get into it. Trust me on this one. Get a new or preowned car with under 20k miles on it. If you want performance then buy a cobra or vette. Unless you have a garage, tools, skills, free time, another ride, and willing to spend about $5 grand to put a good junk yard compatible 500 hp car, or $10 to $15 grand for everything new.
For the car you mentioned think new shocks, springs, bushings, engine, trans, rear end, rust removal, repaint, interiour, then mods.

I got my 3.8 Automatic 95 Mustang back in 2002. It had around 136,000 miles on it because the owner went to Mexico with it a lot. The car's exterior was in good shape. The interior was not bad either except for the cat or dog hair lying around. =(
I have had lots of mechanical problems though. =( Still I love my car and I wouldn't trade it for ANY OTHER car. Except maybe the 71 Grande Mustang my dad used to own, but it would have to be that exact same car he used to own. I was supposed to get it when I was 16 but some idiot kept breaking the windows for it and my dad couldn't afford to keep replacing them so he sold it.
