Default Problem with o/r X-pipe 03 Cobra

I just installed an x-pipe on my '03 cobra (supercharged) and it is running like crap. I read the posts about the MIL eliminator but my check engine light has not come on yet. I did start the car a couple of times with just the x-portion of the pipes connected and no mufflers to check for leaks at the shorty headers and the x-pipe. Then I connected the rear portion and started it up. It was definitely louder and had that "tingy" sound that flowmasters typically make. But then as I drove out of my yard I heard it sounded like it was pinging at only about 2500-3000 rpms. WTF!!!! Is this all part of the MIL eliminator??? I have read several people have problems with these MIL Eliminators not working properly. I read you can just make one for about a buck how do you do this so I can see if this will fix the problem before spending $60 on a BBK MIL Eliminator. Any help would be greatly appreciated.... Also do I need to maybe unplug the battery to reset anything??? I dont have one of those trouble code computers....

You can disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes and re connect to reset computer. A tuner would be better to get vs. the mil`s. Therefore the tuner will be able to turn off the rear 02 sensors if needed. After installing the midpipe, that shouldnt make the car run like s***.

Well a tuner may be in the future but I need to get this problem fixed so I can get back and forth to work for the next few days. I read a little more about this and I see that when this O2 trouble occurs its supposed to put the computer into "LIMP" mode. To reset this I simply unplug the battery for 10 minutes?

When the 02 sensors are picking up strange reading they will try and compensate in the fuel mixture. I would get the MIL's as sooner or later your will have trouble w/ those rear sensors.

do you have your o2 sensors hooked up? if they aren't it will cause you problems.

I have a Diablo tuner I will sell you. I can even get a custom tune from a tuner friend. Do the battery thing as suggested..it resets things and the PC will learn them again. Sounds like your mils are bad or atleast one-Shane
