12 seems way ridiculous...they must floor it like everywhere. most people ive heard get around 20ish...even with gears lots of people can get close to that mark. they seem relatively consistent. as for me...i get about 21 on city driving and almost 24 on most highway driving. these marks seem to be about the average. i have stock gears and stock everything else except for no mufflers (unbolted for exhaust sound until i have money for a catback-h pipe).

in the 4.6 mustang forum section there is a whole sticky about gas mileage. a ton of members entered around what they get. i found that useful. but these cars really arent that over the place. they all get on average between 18 and 22 mpg id say.

also...the v6 and v8 is not a big difference...i guess cuz theres not much of a difference between the displacement of the two. i had a v6 automatic before...now i have a 5 speed v8. im getting about the same mileage now...maybe even just a little bit better. 3.8L and 4.6L...not that much of a difference.

also...im sick right now and kinda hopped up on nyquil...so sorry if this post was kinda all over the place or rambled for a lot lol. hope some/any of it helped. check out that sticky.

dude i pretty much drive like my gas peddle is a on/off switch. It is nothing for my car to see 6k rpm's. i would bet i would get better milage if i would take it easier on the car but i just can't seem to do that.
