Question about a 1994
Hello all, I am hoping someone can help me out here as I have no idea where to start. In late October my sister suddenly passed away and my brother in law gave me her 1994 mustang. It has a brand new battery in it but it still continuously dies and needs to be jumped even if its only been a few days since it was last started or driven. I really want to hang onto this vehile and keep it running but I was hoping someone could give me advice on what other things may be causing this issue so I have an idea of where to start to get this fixed.
My brother in law thinks it was caused by the alarm on it somehow draining the battery and he said he disabled it but I'm not certain how that could still be affecting it of that's the case?
I appreciate any input on this as it is a really super sentimental vehicle for me that I really want to keep going... but I'm also on a budget especially when it comes to dumping tons of money just to figure out where to start...

Four things to check:
The battery itself must be charged, it must hold a charge, and it must be able to pass a load test.
All cables & connections must be clean and secure, able to deliver current from one end to the other with minimal resistance.
The alternator must deliver a charge voltage of 13-14 volts while the engine is running.
The car must not have a drain of more than 50 mA from the battery when the car and all of its accessories are shut off.

It's most likely the amp is not turning off. Look for the fuse, I think its under the hood. Don't remember if it's the same as the stereo or a separate one. Should be listed in owners manual. Pull the fuse and see if it still starts in a couple days. If it does, you have a bad amp. It can kill a battery in about 2 days or less.
