Default HVAC Issue

Hi

So my AC and Heat all blow great with the exception that it always blows out the defrost vents in addition to which ever vents I have it set to blow out. For example when I have it set to blow out the dash, it does, but also blows out the defroster vents cause my windshield to frost. Doesn’t seem like an actuator problem, but then again I am not sure, fence the post. Any thoughts?

is it an automatic climate control system? do you have it set to auto?

could be a stuck door...with car off, can you cycle between positions and try to hear if anything is moving or sounding "stuck"?

Car is a 2008 v6 manual Trans. It has manual controls for climate control. If I unplug the accuator that controls the left defrost valve then it stops blowing out the left side of the defrost vent, but again it is still blowing out the front vents and also the floor vents if I set it to do so. Basically if Frosts over my windshield where I can’t hardly see which causes me not to be able to use the AC.

with the car off it doesn’t make any changes because it’s electronic. See more details under next reply.
