Trunk Release Issue
Hope someone can help. I have a 2011 convertible that all of a sudden wants to blow a fuse whenever I try to open it, either with the remote or the interior button. This fuse also controls the power locks if it means anything. I pulled the plug on the release mechanism on the trunk lid and still blew the fuse, so that should rule out a mechanical problem. I'm worried this could get ugly, I hate electrical problems. I haven't noticed any other related issues. Anyone have a similar problem?

Definitely a short somewhere. Check out all the wiring to see for a stripped or damaged wire, and any fuses/relays, make sure there's no debris around the sockets. The relay is working, if it's still responding to the fob and the release button, so I'm willing to bet your short lies after the relay in the circuit. HOWEVER, you said it pops the fuse even if you use the mechanical release. Check around the hinges, to see if any wires are touching or damaged in that area. Maybe the trunk popping open is causing the short, and not the actuation of the actuator. The only other thing I can think of would be the circuit that tells the car that the trunk is open. I don't have a diagram handy to help you out there.
