sup all. hows it been going. been trying to restore/improve my 79 mustang I got not to long ago here and been going threw trying to fix a few leaks here and there and got one in the transmission. instead of looking for another oem aod transmission been wanting to find an improved one and trying to get most the horse power out of the 5.0 able to get without completly transforming the car into a manual. been looking for a street/strip trans but I must be looking in the completly wrong places latly cause been having plenty of problems. I found quite a few that fit onto 80-93 mustangs but not sure if can squeeze one into the 79. was seeing if anybody might know where might be able to find one at. thx for all the help!

why would a 79 stang be different than any other 79-93 stang, not quite sure what you are askng?

 

there shouldn't be any problem putting a c4 c6 or a aod in a 79 i don't think there is any major diffence.

 

there is no difference between 79-93 stang tranny tunnels, the 85 or 86 models had a double hump tranny crossmember and that about it, any fmx, c4,c5,c6,aod aode, a4od or stick will fit, i had a 81 model with a 429 big block and a c6 at one time, so pretty much anything will fit a stang
