Default 1965 automatic straight 6

Hi all, I’m having some issues getting my car to keep running once it’s started. I’ve had two issues:
1. It would start and I’d let it warm up for 2 or so minutes then once I shifted into a gear, it would die. Sometimes immediately as soon as I shifted into gear, other times it would go 10 feet into the street and die.

2. Very recently, It will start, but then die immediately.

I have replaced the solenoid, battery, battery cables, and terminals. I’m not great at this car stuff, but really would like to get this car to be able to start and run reliably so it’s not just decoration parked on the street. Any ideas where I should start?

Thanks,
Sea

Sounds like fuel problems or a vacuum leak

could you say more? I’m pretty new with cars so I’m not sure how to diagnose those issues or where.

To find a vacuum leak get a can of carb cleaner. Start the car spray carb cleaner near base of carb and hoses, see if idle changes. If it does you have a vacuum leak. You have the task of finding the leak. Not easy but doable with the spray.
To me it sounds like a vacuum leak causing a lean condition in the carb. Try this and if it doesn't work we will try something else.

Also spray near the brake booster hose.
