Default Rack and pinion

I am Coyote swapping an 82 fox chassis. I'm using a BMR tubular k-member with 2000 mustang GT front spindles. I bought my R&P steering unit from O'Reilly (for the 2000 gt mustang) because they were the only locals that had one. Everything fits good as far as mounting, except it looks like it's too wide by a couple inches. I have the outer tie rods in all of the way and it is just too wide. I can't find the actual specs for the width,, but I'm wondering if maybe it's not the right one, like maybe it's for a crown vic or something. Does anyone have any info on the difference, or the specs on them or she'd some light on what may be happening?

What year rack and pinion are you referring to? A new edge or s550 coyote? What year coyote?

it's an 82 chassis with a BMR tubular k-member. The R&P and spindles are for a 2000 GT Mustang. The coyote motor/trans is a 2016.

The later sn95 foxes have a wider track width. The 95-95 maintains the stock fox track width.

I went with the 82 Mustang GT rack. I had to slightly modify the mounting bushings to make it fit on the BMR tubular K-member, but all is good now. I guess in my frustration with trying to match everything up on this car I for the swap, I forgot that the 2000 gt is wider than the 82.
