Been having lots of problems with this Mustang lately it’s a 2007 4.0 v6 , it used to crank and not start I changed the crankshaft position sensor and it started right away the next day it wouldn’t start again I sprayed starting fluid and it would start , now the next day it just makes this noise and won’t start

The Harmonic Balancer got damaged and I had to change it , the car would start sometimes and I looked at the sensor and there was a small chunk missing

did you buy the sensor from Ford? If not, that maybe the problem.

I assume the new balancer has the gear on it.

I looked at my scan tool, it doesn't show any kind of cam crank relearn.

those engine kinda suck to verify timing. It only has one cam sensor on one head. The cam gears are not pinned, so they can slip too. Not sure on the crank gear for the chains. I think it has a line-up though.

You probably need to check for signal on the crank first. Then look to seeing if it is in time with the cam sensor.

no codes I guess?
