Smell of gas with heat on at idle
The title speaks for itself but for starters, I drive a 2009 Mustang GT.
I have been smelling gas whenever I turn on my heater. I’m really lost and confused into why this is happening. I don’t see any leaks either, so what is causing this? It’s really frustrating because I can’t sit in my car and have the heat on for too long, otherwise the gas smell will take over the cabin.. When I drive, the smell goes away, even when the heater is on, but when idling, it’s there. It’s not really overpowering, but you do notice it, because my friend noticed it, even though I knew that it smells like that.
Last year I changed the purge valve, injectors, fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter but not because it smelled of gas, but because I haven’t been hearing little bubble pops in idle (which is still occurring)
I’ve been researching for 3 hours and still can’t really pin point, or try at least to. I know a few of you guys have had this problem. What fixed this? Should i replace the regulator again? the valve?
EDIT: Also, I haven’t got any codes pertaining to my EVAP SYS, but i did receive 2 codes about a month ago for my cats? P0171 & P0174
