Default Question about the ecoboost engine

Hello all. I'm new to the site plus i'm 77 years old and not very good with computers and the like so if I posted this in the wrong forum please forgive me. My very first car when i got out of the military was a new 1970 Mustang. I only bring that up because I plan on buying a new Mustang and at my age this could possibly be the last car I own. My question is this. I read in a few places that the ecoboost engine has had some problems and was wondering if Ford fixed it. Also I may want to wait until the 2026 model is released but I couldn't find much info on that. Again forgive me if I posted in the wrong area and thanks in advance for any help.

I believe the vast majority of cars don't really suffer too many problems and if they do they can be fixed by warranty. People tend to complain about problems with their cars but don't go on forums and tell everyone how great they are. If I believed everything I read on forums about certain cars I'd be riding a bicycle everywhere I went.

Thanks for replying. I think I'm going to wait until the 2026 comes out. Believe me if I was a bit younger I'd get the GT but my need for speed has gone down over the years.

I had a 2015 Mustang with the Eco boost engine. 60K miles and no issues. I have the 2024 Eco boost $6,646 miles and no issue. You don't have to wait until 2026 you can buy one now. And its plenty fast. You don't need the 8

What issues specifically are you concerned about?

I read there could be coolant ,eaks into the cylinders potentially leading to engine failure.

Never really been an issue with the Mustang 2.3L

There was an issue with the Focus ST that used the same engine as the Mustang but that was finally determined to be a headgasket and deck issue because the focus ST called for a slightly different head gasket that was incorrectly oriented.

Other ecoboosts in the Escape are a different size.

Edit: dots some tesearch. . 2015 to 2019 Mustamgs reportedly did have some issues but it was not wide spread like the Focus ST. 2020+ Mustangs dint typically have failures except in high boost or highly modified applications.
