T5 Tranny Question
Ok so I was driving one day and my fifth gear went out completly. I researched it so I could tackle it myself and it followed the common symptoms of a Roller Pin being sheared off or falling out. It didnt fall out when we looked it was all fine. So we saw a gear hanging on the shaft(in the tail shaft). We looked on the net for a diagram and saw it was the Fifth Gear, we also noticed a "C" style clamp that was off of the gears aswell , so we mated the fifth gear back up and replaced the C clip that was on there already with the same one.
We put the tailshaft back together and went to test the vehicle. When we put it into fifth gear, fifth gear jumped out again and the problem started all over again. So we narrowed it down to the C clip just not having the spring tension to hold the fifth gear in place.
Any ideas how to replace this or buy a new one? Is there a place that I can find a guide or something that will help with the replacement. I talked with a Shop about fixing it and they want 4-500$ to replace a clip that proabably cost less than 20$.
Do i need a special tool to do it, any idea where to get the part? Please let me know.
Thanks
