Default Beating emissions test

Has anyone figured out how to beat the emissions test yet running the offroad H-pipes? When my gt is hooked up on the testing machine while i have my offroad h-pipe on, will the MIL eliminator give a "PASSING" code on my emissions (exhaust) or do I just need to keep my stock exhaust on??? because I sure as h### dont want to put it on and then 7 months later have to put my stock exhaust back on. Let me know. Thanks

Are you getting the sniffer or just a scan to check for codes?

If you have MIL's and they check for any codes, you'll pass, the MIL's trick the computer into believing everything is working. If you have to pass a sniffer, you stand no chance.

Besides, it's not like it'll be some huge deal to swap mid-pipes for emissions? It'll take an hour tops to do it by yourself or 50-60 bucks to pay a shop to do it?

Umm...Sorry, but Cali DOES use a sniffer also. Along with the computer hook up. I ran 5 shops, 4 had smog.

one thing that i've heard but im not saying it's true by any means... is that if you put the shell around the O/R pipe and tune your timing down really low and you'll pass.

the theory behind this is that all the gases get burned up before they exit out. also they'll look under the car to see if the cats are there.

won't backing the timing down making it fire closter to tdc make it burn less fuel since it is firing later in the rotation?
