some guy is charging me $ 1200 to paint my whole car. i have a 96 black stang vert. i am painting the car all over cause some son of a b*** made a huge line w a key on the side of my car. also the person that had the car b4 painted the car but im guessing they did not do a good job cause the paint is peeling off.
is it a good price? plz send some help!!!

 

Thats very cheap, but you get you pay for esp. with paint/body work. Does that price include the materials? The last paint job I did, materials cost about $700 and that was not even using all of the best stuff.

 

There's some place here that charges like $300 for a paint job...must be some serious crap!

 

with paint you get what you pay for you can go to maco and get a 200 dollar paint job but it wont look good in 6 months.

 

That is way cheap. Guaranteed it will peel again if thats the total price with time and material. Best thing to do since the car was painted before is strip the car to bare metal and then have it painted. Make sure its a quality shop and quality paint. Youll pay a bit more than 1200, but its worth getting it done the right way. A real good paint job would be around 2500.

 

A simple repaint that needs little body work, not painting door jambs/trunk/under hood, even with excellent prep work should be under $2,000.

 

No i know this guy he is charging me to paint the whole car, everything including material, he is going to fix the the scratch, my lights cause it is broken so it is kinda loose and if i take him a new body kit, cause im planning to buy a new one, he will paint it 2. i seen the work he does and he is good, he knows what he is doing, plus i went to ask some other place and they said they were going 2 charge me 2800 w/ materials included. He also said that i have to be careful which bodykit i pick cause sometimes when i change the bumper he needs to take out the protection from the back and if they crash me from the back is going 2 *** me up. is this true?
