Default Tires

Hello all.....Newbie to the board

I have a 81 Fox body with a pretty stout small block in it and I have been running a J60 M&H on stock LX 15" wheels. It has stock suspension front and back except 4cyl spring in front. The car is fun to drive on the street but it is a fun bracket car as well. It's time for new tires and I was cosidering trying a drag radial in back. The J60s fill the wheel well good and hook exellent on the street or strip. Looking at the Jeg's and Summit catalog the BFG's and MT's look like they will be smaller than the J60s. I'm not to worried about that, but don't want them to be smaller than the 225/60/15 front tires and make the car look silly. Soooooo, here are my questions;

1) Do you like the radials over MT Street or M&H for street and strip use?
2) What size do you recommend for me?
3) What brand?

If your going to drive it on the street, you should definantly go with the drag radials. if your main concern is traction, I would go with the M/T drags, they are much softer than the BFG's . They will not last as long though. Do you know how wide your rim is? A 235/60/15 will probably be your best bet, but I'm pretty sure you can fit a 275 in the wheel well, just wouldnt fit on the rim right.

i forget what the size (i wanna say 255/55/16) same size is offered for 15's , but they measure out to 26 X 10 1/2 X 16

the regular et street bias-ply's are stated in inch sizes, not metric like a radial.

i think either mickey's will be superior to the old racemasters you are using. like night and day, i have used both, and used racemasters b4 too.

Unless you want to change the rim, I wouldnt go higher than the 235. If you do change the rim though, you can get a 9" rim and probably tuck 275's (with the right backspacing), but it seems like you just want a tire swap. have fun.
