Default Intake manifold suggestions

Soon i am going to replacing the headgaskets in my car. I want to also start adding some more performance parts. The next thing i wanted to buy is a performance intake manifold. ( upper and lower ) I was looking at trickflow and ford racing. Any suggestions on which ones are better or which brand to look at ? I'm looking to spend 500 tops, maybe a bit over. Also, about how much HP gain will an aftermarket intake manifold give me ? and what other issues it will help. thanx alot.

i can never be sold on ANYTHING other than the real gt-40.

imo , the most beautiful, nothing else jumps out like it.

but to be honest, you know an intake swap w/ stock everything is only worth about 5-7 hp.

just no real reason to do it(other than looks and then you have it, but it has to come off when you heads anyways), and it's not a small job either, you will gain at least 35 or so w/ a head swap alone, then have the base for the rest.

but i like gt40's to answer your question.

Today I was thinking about putting off the intake manifold and getting some diff. heads instead. How much would GT-40 heads run me ? Anywhere they can befound cheaper than other places ?

http://search.ebay.com/GT-40-heads_W...TQ2d40Q20heads.

This is what i found on Ebay. Since they are from a lightning, would it still give me around 30 HP gain ?

Also, do GT-40 heads come stock on a Cobra R, or SVT, or do GT-40 heads come stock on any mustang ? If so i found Cobra R heads for 250 a piece at rockauto.com. Or do i need an aftermarket GT-40 head. Sorry if these questions sound stupid and obvious, but i'm damn confused

dont buy GT-40 heads... they're not that great. They might be cheap but if ur gonna do a cam and intake (which u should) they're not gonna perform with a crap. I'd suggest the Trickflow Twisted Wedge or AFR 165s for heads...

Edelbrocks heads perform well too, its all about preferance. And for future reference, the best intake is the one that best fits your application, a N/A motor will see best gains from longest runners on an intake, and forced induction shorter runners benefit, just something to think about so you know when the time comes for the intake.

You could do cam as well, they arent terribly expensive to buy, and if you have the heads off you will be able to install a new cam easily. With a cam and head you will see massive gains, shy of 100 but around 80 depending on the cam and heads. All three head cam intake together benefit the engine most disregarding stroking and forced induction.
