What all is involved in swaping out a irs for a solid axle 8.8? I'm looking to do so and I'm willing to trade my irs for everything to do so. Thanks

 

i don't really have an answer for you, but i do have a question....why? i thaught IRS was better, unless u want to drag.

 

its good if ur driving on a curvey track or somthin... but thats the thing, most people here DO want to drag.

 

nah, me i prefer road coarses...but i will say i am more of a fan of drag than nascar. i don't see the point in going in circles.

 

IRS is nice for the road course but not the drags. The halfshafts aren't very strong for drag racing and the wheel hop with knock your teeth out! You can upgrade them but for the price of the upgrades a solid axle is the way to go.

Yup..most Cobra owners in my club change out the IRS to the solid as well as the manual to an auto tranny-Shane

 

do any of them want to sell their T56? I want one )

 

I don't think I could ever swap out my manual for a auto!!
