TIRE psi

RE: TIRE psi
42-45 in the front, and pretty close to tire rating for the rears, maybe drop 5-7 psi only.
if you drop too much pressure in a radial, it will cause the center of the tire to "bow" inwards, and you actually get less traction
getting it WOT is the hard part w/ a stick...have to slip the clutch while keeping the r's up.
just takes practice, or get some sticky tires for the track.

RE: TIRE psi
i have 40ish PSI in the front. and 20 in the rear. my rear tire is actually a 285. its kinda small for my rear wheels. but i was too cheap to get 315's. max pressure on my tires is 50 or 55.
not sure how much your supposed to flatten the rear.. but i did 20PSI in the rear and the tires look like it still has its form.. doesn't look flat at all.

RE: TIRE psi
if you look on the sid wall there will be a max psi usualy around 45psi set your front to that.
on the back drop them down to about 28 psi don't drop your rear below about 26 its not good on a standard radial tire and you won't get any more out of it. thats what i find works best for me

If it's not a drag radial or slick, you gain nothing by reducing the tire pressure. You do, however, increase the risk of tire failure.

Vash- Low profile tires dont always look flat when they have low psi, so sometimes its hard to tell w/ low profile, esp if you have a really stiff sidewall.

thats what ive always heard too, it also creates uneven tirewear.

They don't listen. I can't tell you how many times I have seen them pop the bead. Even the ones who manage to get off the line don't realize the effect that having 2 flat rear tires has at 90+ MPH under full throttle.
I'm not saying that Tim37 is incorrect. He is absolutely correct. It does not hurt to drop a few pounds out of the tires. That CAN actually help you a little bit, but keep it reasonable and safe. You really don't want to have the *** end start wandering and hit the wall. It's ugly and usually your insurance won't cover you for accidents at the track.
