I have an 01 Mustang, its a slow v6, but I was wondering how hard would it be to put the GT40 engine in it. Also would it be worth it? Around how much would it cost, and what would I have to do? thanks for your help

i am really serious. I have a family member that works at Ford and I was talking to him about it and said he doesnt know about how hard it would be, but he said if I was serious about it then he could get the engine for a decent cost. i just wanna get some other opinions about it.

 

well the gt-40 is a mid engine car... im not familiar with any mid engine cars really... being that i havn't ever owned or worked on one in real life, but i dont know how it would mount up i dunno if it would be the same or not but just throwing a few things out

 

you could prolly get a better ford raving crate engine for a good price.. prolly even cheaper then what your thinking of paying for the gt-40 motor

 

he could buy a whole new car and pay less... are you sure you dont mean a 302 with GT40 heads?

they had a guy in my local paper trying to sell a gt-40 engine and tranny for like 5k$

 

yeah, it probably sat under water for 4 or 5 weeks, 5K and you'll be lucky if it cranks
