new wheels and tires?

RE: new wheels and tires?
Gotta get those M/T drag radials, Mand those things are great!!!! But I would't drive any drag radial on the street. Only to and from track. Just compare the drag radials next to each other . My opinion is to go with M/Ts!!! Good Luck!!

as long as you arent burning them up at every stop light or stop sign, you'll be fine.
I've got MT ET Street Radials, maybe about 2K or so on them and ive got no signs of anything on them, and ive had them at the track once.
maybe you were referring to driving them in some sort of condion other than dry pavement. Sure, they'll get away from you pretty easy in rain, but as long as you arent doing anything you ought not to be doing, then there wont be any problems.

My friend wrecked his 97 Cobra last week due to drag radials. Said the conditions were fine but just couldnt stop in time and hit a car. Said he would never use them again but to and from the track. So far..I have not had that problem-Shane

maybe ur friend wasnt paying attention when he was driving. The rear tires on your car provide very little stopping power, he was probably looking for something to blame. My friend had absolutely zero problems with worn nitto 555Rs in the rain, so go figure.

Well..I wasnt with my friend and can't back up anything he said. But..I had some worn Nitto's on my Mystic Cobra on the way back to SC from FL and I almost wrecked about 10 times. I was pretty skeered I was gonna wreck the car and screw up that paintjob. So I'll differ on that one[&:]

Id stay away from the regular nitto 555s, i heard after 1 year their performance is gone. Mine dryrotted right off the wheel after about 2.5 years old. My friend got brand new ones and his Stock Mustang GT had horrible understeer with them, I suggest another tire up front.
And nitto drag radials do not suck with traction... if u lower the psi a lil and heat them up they hook like a sob. But they are amazing for a street tire that lasts as long as they do.
