Default Ford Explorer Timing chain issue

Hey all i am having the common timing chain issue with my 99 explorer sport it all of a sudden got very loud today when i started it to come to work. So i don't want to drive it. The sound started at 70,000 so it is about time for it to go. I don't have the 3G's the dealer wants to fix it. I have 106,000 miles on so i am stuck. I am bring the cobra out. Don't have much choice what would be the best choice a used motor form like ebay or a reman motor form advanced auto or something like it. don't have much money at the moment. Please help.

i can't remember but doesn't the 99 explore still have the 5.0 if so its a pretty easy job you can do the only specialty tool i can think off is a harmonic balancer puller.
