Default busted intake manifold

i have 1996 gt with 4.6 it has a busted thermostat housing but as we all know the housing and the intake are all one piece. i want to replace it but i am not sure what to get if any. i have heard that the 2 vavle engines are not worth modifying. i am kind of new to the whole mustang thing so i am not even sure if my car is a two valve or a four valve is there any way to know by looking at it or do i have tear into it or are all 1996 gt's 2 valve engines. and if so what kind intakes are there and what is best for the money.thanks alot i hope someone can shine some light on the situation for me.

ORIGINAL: PipsBlackStang

Well I checked my fuses and 1 was busted so I replaced it and put in my new computer and started it up. Everything worked and ran fine, everything was perfect. Then I put in my new speedo gear and started the car again. It worked for a second and then everything that was broke before broke again. Well I went back and checked the fuses and that one was busted again. I guess I'll just look at the wiring diagram and see whats up.
huh?

Your car is a 2v V8 with 281 Cubic inches of displacement.

Ford may replace that manifold because they are designed poorly with one with an aluminum crossover. Basically, that means that there is an aluminum piece that is on the front of the manifold where the all plastic ones normally cracked. Take it there first.

If you are lookin for horsepower (hp), you can get a few aftermarket ones for your car. You could go the PI route like the 99 and newer GTs with new heads and a new intake. You could also, get a bullit intake like the one off of the 2001 Bullitt mustang. THat is an all aluminum intake that will be good if you want to go with any nitrous or forced induction(supercharger or turbo). Then one other route that you could go it call FOx Lake products. They manufacture the P-51 intake that is AWESOME. It is costly but it is sweet. You can also get cams and heads from them too. That is not the cheapest way to go but it is best for a modded car. I think Code3GT has the P-51 and loves it but, I am not sure. His engine is bulletproof. You can just get a replacement for 250 buxs at Autozone or you can spend 2k and get lots of performance. You do have a few options.

hey thanks for the info Zoie i appreciate it a lot i want performance so i might call fox lake or i might just buy a stock manifold and build another motor on the side like a 351 windsor or a stroker motor of some sort i bought the car cheap i dont mind spending a little money on it but while i am driveing it i dont want to get smoked buy some punk in a tuner turbo car. nothing wrong with tuners its just not my thing. thanks for the info.
