Default Tips on replacing inner tie rods

I went to get my front end aligned and it was refused until I get the left inner tie rod replaced because there is too much play on the tire. Got any tips before I start? I do have the Haynes manual but sometimes it's good to receive additional advice from others to avoid some frustration.

Thanks guys!

get the car off the ground as hight as possible and you will need a special tool to get teh innter tie rod out. first pope the wheel off for more room then loseen the jam nut is on the inner tie rod then unscrew the tie rod out of the outer tie rod next pop the rubber boot off. now the inner tie rod tool comes in to play use it with the apropirat fitting to unscrew thn inner tie rod. then use lock tite (a lot of times a small package will come with the part) and put the new tie rod in. you will need a zip tie to replace to boot on the rack. when you scew the inner tie rod back in to the outter tie rod try to get it some what close to where it was it will make it easier to alighn.

Be sure to go ahead and get an alighment any time you do front end work.

outer tie rod ends much easyer it can be done in about ten min. just unbolt use a ball joint separator fork then scew it off the inner and replace.
