When I put the Cobra engine in my GT there was no wiring for the Secondary air injectors on the front of the engine (the ones that put fresh air into the exhaust manifolds) So my check engine light is always on. My question is for those people that have put headers on how did you tell the computer to turn them off? Will a programmer let you turn them off? Does any of this make sense?

 

im confused? I dont have secondary air injectors that i know of. are you talking about the 02 sensors right below the headers in the mid-pipe? What year? If there not plugged in you will get a check engine light.

 

I'm sorry I guess I should have put that this is a 97 Cobra 4.6L DOHC engine.

 

All these Cobra's on here and no one has put headers on there engine?

 

a progaramer should do the trick.


btw how hard was it to intergrate the gt wireing to the dohc motor.

 

Very Easy. you just have to get the engine harnees with the DOHC engine Both engines have the same plug on the passenger firewall. All I had to do was just plug in the wiring harness and the computer and it started right up. Only thing missing was the air injectors wiring whitch I don't care about I just want the computer to stop looking for them.

 

nice i wonder if that is true of the 99 up cars.
