Default Problem

I have a big problem. I recently bought and installed a Mac o/r h-pipe. I went out and bought some new bolts and nuts to connect it to the catback. I didnt really like the ones they gave me so I went and got some more. Anyways, me and my friend both tightened them as tight as we could with a ratchet and wrench. But for some reason they keep coming loose and I've done lost like 4 bolts. I think the catback is not staying in place and therefore is weighing down and the nuts and bolts cant hold up because of the pressure. I've done been under the car for the past 3 days tightening the nuts and I've had to go and buy new ones because I lost the other ones. Is there anyway to keep this from happening? I bought a bolt that is thin thread on one end and like the bolts I got with the h-pipe, so I can still use the nuts that also came with the h-pipe. This is really pissing me off, so can someone please help.
Thanks

Yes they are a perfect match. Me and the guy at Autozone went through and tested all of them. It screws in just fine and it looks good. But then after driving for like a day or so they come loose and fall on the ground and I got to go buy new ones. Its actually kinda stressing me out. I basically dont wanna drive the car unless I get this finished, but Its my only car so I have to drive it. I drive kinda slow and worry about the pipe falling, which I dont think is gonna happen because its bolted real good on the manifold (very secure). Anyways I dont know what the hell the problem is, and another thing is since I dont have cats the SES light is on, but I have mil eliminators, do those take awhile to kick in and make the light go off?
Thanks

you could try pipes/boost/juice section as well

as far as the engine light, try disconecting the battery for 20 min and then reconecting.....
wait about 10 days, if the light doesnt come back on, then you fixed it!

but you havta get that light off, the engine will start acting funny if it doesnt know whats goin on down there

do you have a handheld tuner?

nuts come off. Exhaust vibrates and it heats and cools so the metal expands and contracts. That's why you use lock washers and and impact gun to put them on. High temp locktite is good.

I have been known to tack weld them.

Wouldnt putting locktite on them make it a pain in the *** to undo them again? I'm gonna be installing SLP LM1's and I dont wanna deal with the locktite. Hopefully just the bolts will do until I get the SLP. Couldnt I get bolts that are longer than the ones they gave me?
Thanks

Well if the bolts are backing out constantly, this doesn't sound like such a big problem now does it? LOL

Get some lock washers, use some loctite and be done with it. You don't need to load a ton of loctite on there either, just put enough on to cover 2-3 threads.

you can get breakable locktite, that and a jam nut will take care of it
as in tighten down your first nut and lock washer then tighten a second nut against
the first
