Default Thowout bearing noisy

1994 GT, not sure if original clutch or not. It seems to shift ok and is not slipping. Do I need a new clutch or can this be adjusted. When I press the clutch a small amount, the noise goes away. I would appreciate any feed back. Also, where is the best place online to buy a "King Cobra Clutch". I have read there are fakes out there.

If it is a chirping noise or sounds like cyclical squeaking...it is a common problem in the clutch design. Resting your foot slightly on the pedal will get rid of it. I've tried new components and switching from an alum to steel bearing retainer and the problem seems to come back. I posted this long ago and found that it is a common problem even on the later model 4.6's ...I have a 94, 5.0.

It is your throwout bearing. There is no way to adjust it, it will do it 'til you get a new clutch. It will probably get worse. This often times comes pre-maturely when you rest your foot on the clutch pedal during normal driving.

what if youve never ridden the clutch? can it happen just from normal wear, or hard wear? maybe missing a shift once and pining it off the rev limiter. .lol.. i mean, not that ive.. ever.. had that happen...

i was just thinking about it today though, does it cause any damage if its doing what it does,(spinning all the time now)? or waht?

anyoen with any imput, i need some reassurance i dont need to replae anything..

mine started going around 110k miles, not sure if it was original but it started with cold weather, and it was only on and off. eventually it got worse but by then the engine swap and clutch was done so problem solved. ive heard that if you leave your foot on the clutch at lights and stops that itll increase the wear of the throw out bearing (well that makes sense at least) may be for the older manuals though.

Ford's seem to have non-stop TOB issues.

Thanks for all of the input. I want to spend around 200.00 for a clutch kit. What is the most decent one and where online can I buy one.

Yes, it can go out from normal wear and tear. But usually (if the clutch is newer) there is some reason why. One other way this can happen prematurely is if you have a manual cable in there, and you don't adjust the cable for clutch wear and pedal travel.
