stroker crank

hi im rebuilding my 302 and i want to get a 347 crank, well is it true i would need to get the block mechined for the crank to fit , i know i have to bore it

yes it will need clearanced for the stroke it is more clearancing it for the rods than the crank its self.

are you gone to do the motor your self? If so you can clearance the block also it is very easy if you are gone to have someone build it for you then they could do it it can be done with a die grinder in about 1hr like I said it is easy.but you will need to assy. the motor one piston and rod at a time then just clearance the bottom of the bore to clear the rod it was the bolt area on the rod on the one I did for a guy that was hitting.no need to torque every thing as you will need to take everything back apart to clean it up.

i have a feeling that if he doesn't know it needs clearanced then he probably isn't building it himself. i think its about 150 bucks to have one clearanced.

LOL ,^^^^yea you probably are right and now that I think about it it did take a couple hours to do. But it is not hard to do at all.They like to make out like it is so people don't do it and they can charge you good money to do.

im building it myself, every one i talk to about it is saying how it costs a ton of money to make it fit and leave the stock crank. but i wanted a second opinion cause there not to bright and i have not built a stroker motor before. thanks for the info
