Default atf mercon in a 5speed?

someone posted:
Yes the fill and fluid level check is the plug on the side of the tranny. I don't mean to correct, but if memory serves me the T-5 takes ATF (Mercon). The tranny should have fluid up to the bottom of the fill plug hole.

i did find atf fluid in the trunk of the car.... should i fill it up with that? it says its for automatic transmisions... i got a 5 speed

check your t5 some of them used maual gear oil some used atf. so be sure the easiest way is to pull your fill plug stick your finger in and see if its atf or grease.
