removing side windows
Yeah, the glass has to be done from the inside, i.e. removal of the inner door panel is necesary to access the window. As far as tinting, you will be muuuuuch better off to do it with the glass in the car. Removing the glass, regulator assembly is difficult and even more so to align when reinstalling. The inside belt line (the black rubber piece with felt on the glass side) can be removed easily. Just take off the belt line and cut out a template of the glass. Then, cut out a sheet of film (taking into concideration that you will need about two inches excess at the bottom that will be in the door and never be seen. Remove the interior mirror cover (snaps out) and spray the glass and film down with a tint solution. Slide the film into place and squeegie. Let it set up for a couple of hours and trim the glass edges. (I usually tape an exacto knife to a pencil and use that to trim around the glass using the pencil as a guide. This assures an even and professional cut. Reinstall the trim (accept for the beltline) and you are done. After about three or four days (depending on the temp.) it will be okay to roll down the windows and install the beltline. A word of advice though, put a piece of duct tape over the switch for the three days that you cannot roll the window down. This will serve as a firendly reminder that you cannot roll thm down. Good luck!
Very informative help Tennesee. Thank you. I already did the 2 little rear windows which were easy enough. The front two shouldn't be too hard. I'm going to have to have the back done profesionally though. But i can probobly save some money by doing the sides myself. Plus i can't do the rear untill i fix my rear defroster which has about 6 broken lines [:@]
