chipped keys are expensive if you only have one. had that problem with the focus, only got one key when i bought it... i figured no big deal i'll just get another one made (wrong), if you have 2 keys i think it's around 20$ ...BUT if you only have one key (like me) it costs between 75$-95$ ...they said they needed 2 keys to program a new one.... otherwise it's a big bunch of mumbojumbo delear crap.

That is why I loved my 96.. It only takes one key to get a copy.. So I only paid like $40 I think to get an extra key made.

RE: Keys
My car only came with 1 key and one transmitter. Yes, it's expensive. The dealership quoted $100 per key because of the chip inside and $50 for an extra transmitter. To get around paying all that money, see if you can find a locksmith who can do it for you for less. That is the next thing on my to-do list.

RE: Keys
Could someone provide a 2004 Mach 1 reprogramming guide for a new cut key? The one I have for my new keys doesn't seem to work. My guide is for a 2004 mustang, but either the transponder inside the key is bad (both keys?) or the instructions are wrong...
