I have a 97 GT, now to all of you automatic guys, how do you race?

Do u just put it in Drive and go?

Or do you go 1st, 2nd, D?

What are the pro's and con's?


well today i put my car in first gear for the first time and slammed the gas and i just like sat there and roasted, then in d if i just slam the gas i burn out a lil n take off, so im assuming if u want to look sweet and burn out just put it in 1st and slam the gas, but if u wanna get off the line and go just slam the gas in D? (i shift in a manual at red line anyways, and thats where my automatic shifts when the gas is to the floor) cuz by the time u get done spinning in (1) youd already be gone in D?

Put it in drive, turn off OD (if you want... doesn't matter because it won't shift into OD at WOT anyways)

Hold the brake, rev the engine until the car almost wants to start moving.

Release the brake, floor it.
