Default abs light on

yesterday night the abs light came on. I turned the car off an on three times, 2 when the car was still but the light would come on again, the third time while going on the highway at about 70mph, light didn't come on after that.

What does it mean when the light comes on? I know it has to do with the brakes, the roads were really wet and slippery, i don't know if it has anything to do with it.

please help, have a Blessed day!

It could be that the sensor is dirty, loose, needs brake fluid, or you pad are worn.

Coulda just been a glitch. The abs system saw something it didn't like and triggered the lite. My explorer does it from time to time. If it continues and stays on, have it checked.

this means that you need more break fluid

pick up som dot3 fluid and top it off

after that the light will go away

My 97 GT does the same thing. If I don't drive the car for a while and go start it up it the light will be off. By the time I back out of the drive way it will be on again though. When I bought the car the shaddy used car dealer told me I had a bad wheel speed sensor? Since the brakes seemed to work ok I didn't really bother with it since I don't drive it in the rain or snow. However someone pulled out infront of me once and I had to slam on the brakes and they locked up. I think I might give it more attention now.

It relly weird, it came on yesterday for a little while and then went off. I'll try the brake fluid see what happens. The whole abs thing is suposed to be new, when i first went to the dealer the check the car, the abs light was on. When i made the deal they told me that they would fix it for me, free of charge. they kept the car for an entire day. Somehow i get the feeling that they messed me up.
