Thanks for all your help guys! ~looks for a 0bdII~

You don't have to let it sit for 30 min. if you don't have the time, all you have to do is unhook the battery, then get in your car, press on the brake, and turn on your lights on high beam as if they were working. This takes usually about 30 sec., but i generally let it go for 1 minute. This drains the left over power out of the system and memory just like it does letting it sit for 30 minutes. Just some FYI for next time!

I did that on the 5 minute unhook but no go so there must have been something left in it. But im glad that it is off now, its nice not having that yellow light always there..

And as for Mazda, Shame on your for that suggestion, lets hope you werent serios.

Hey that OBDII is pretty nice, I will have to get that one untill we can get the master kit from Snap-On or Mac. And its cheap ($169.99), unlike the master kits

I can't believe that guy suggested touching the battery cables. Sounds like someone lived under powerlines as a child.

Just FYI for all concerned...I found that Advance Auto will read your ODBII codes and clear them for FREE!!! Found that out when I wasn't willing to part with $80 for somecarpet baggerto doit for me!! Autozone probably will too, but around here those guys really were raised under power lines.

Default RE: Check Engine Light came o

FYI, I have a 95 5.0. This was the last year for OBD-I (at least on Mustangs).

You can get a digital OBD-I Scanner for $39.95 from Kragen. According to the book, it takes 40 cycles (turning car on/off) to clear the CEL.
