Default Water Outlet Question..

I had a friend helping me throw a 160 degree thermostat in my 94 5.0 he broke my stock water outlet. I work part time at advance auto so i baught one for like 13 bucks. It is like 3 pounds heavier than the old one plus the hose will not fit in the side of it from the water pump.. The actual water pump is so close to it there is not enough room for the hose or a hose clamp to fit... Latham Ford wants $140.00 for a new one and they hafto special order it... any recomendations?

I had one of those chrome jobs from 50 resto on mine, Worked fine. 25 bucks I think.

Oh and I wouldn't put a 160 in it. I'd go w/ a 180. The car may not run right because the engine temp is not warm enough.

I also have the chrome one from 50resto.com it fits great, but make sure you tighten the bypass tube and nut on top of the outlet. I must have took it off and put it on 10 times before I figured out that was where it was leaking.

Ya they leak many time from the top nut I ended up using thread wrap for pipe fittings and it stoped. Mile had a slot cut in it and you had to use a flat blade screw driver to tighten it... Couldn't get it tight enought and had to use the tape
