Default Concerned Cobra Owner

I have recently seen some post for 03/04 Cobra owners stating that they have had to rebuild their motors. Can anyone set my mind at ease and let me know if this is a problem or not?

i believe its only due to puttin mac headers on and the slag from the welds being sucked back up into the engine and then the engine going BOOOOOOOMMM!!!

I know there was a big thing with something about "head tapping" - I would tell you to go to www.svtperformance.com - that's a board for SVT owners, even though this has a great board, they might be able to help you a lot more there..

Use only premium oils, preferably synthetic and stay away from MAC parts. They basically have a very short shelf life (ie: they fall apart).

Like someone said before svtperformance has alot of good info, many, many cobra owners. Hmm the 03-04's have had a few problems, one being cooling. Something to do with the way the heads are or the supercharger was causing two of the cyliders to overheat. Also the head "tick" which should only be a problem on early production 03's. Like someone said before some owners who used certain headers had a problem with metal getitng into the engine. All in all if u take care of ur engine and dont run it up to 150 mph everyday u should be fine man. If i were you id searce for the apten cooling mod and do that.

Another problem is when people change spark plugs, they overtorque them, causing the threads to get weak, and spit them out of the head.
