Default hate my stocker clutch!

Hey all~
I got a 97 GT... just sick of the stock clutch. When I bought the car, it was super tight. I've but about 6000 miles on it of occasional floorings and it now grabs fully when the pedal is all the way up. GRR! Got a ford racing on sitting in my room. Anyone have any reccomendations on making this current clutch last?

yep... they don't just all of a sudden go out do they? (yes I know you can blow them from dumping it) but under normal conditions it should just get looser and looser, right?

and how long should a ford racing king cobra kit last under normal conditions? Mostly gentle cruising with occasional rompings...

they should hold up better but you will wear your leg out using it a buddy of mine has one in his 5.0 and its stiff.

romping on a car shouldnt wear a clutch out any more than normal driving... its all about how long u hold the clutch at friction point.

when does the clutch engage in the pedal? is it fine when im just cruising to lay my foot on the pedal because there is like a little tiny big of play in the clutch before it starts to get hard to put in.

yup... and yeah I understand about that friction point thing. It's about how much you slip it. I never floor it before it's fully engaged, and I don't smell my clutch burning. I just know the clutch disc itself is getting thinner. Once I get my "backup" car ready to go, the stang stang goes under the knife
