I just bought a 2002 mustang gt knowing that 137000 miles I would have to do some work on it but it already has exhaust, cams and gears so I got it. First I noticed the valve covers were leaking so I replaced the gaskets ( couldn't believe I had to take the cops and the injectors off) but that went smooth and i had an evap leak so had a smoke test and had to replace the gas cap and fuel vapor canister. Last I noticed a gurgle out of the air filter box so I cleaned the iac and it ran much better so I bought a new one and now it won't idle. I unplug the iac and the car dies could I have gotten a bad iac? Also there is still a low grumble in the air filter box??? Any ideas?

Did you remove the throttle body at all when you did the IAC?

Did you unplug your battery for a while (at least 15 mins) to reset the PCM?

Sorry I'm late but yes I did it ended up that autozone sells crap iac I went through 3 and demanded my money back went to oreileys and worked perfect thanks for the input though
