Procharger w/ Diablo Install

Procharger w/ Diablo Install
I got a complete procharger kit for a great price before I even bought the car. My bro and I will be installing it first w/e in April and have a question. It came complete with new injectors, fuel pump controller and a DIABLO tuner, etc. The tuner has a Procharger tune to download to the car.
Question: Has anyone done this install with the Diablo? If so, Is this just a base tune? Does it need to be altered by a tune-shop to make it safe/car specific, or will it be fine for the longrun?
Thanks

No two cars are alike. What you are supplied with will be a safe generic tune. But it obviously won't be the "optimal" tune for your car. When possible, it would nto be a bad idea to go have a custom tune done to it.

Take it (tow or trailer) to a Diablo Chipmaster Revolution shop and they can do a safe custom tune on a dyno for 2 or 3 hundred bucks. Stinks, but as stated by hawgman, the supplied tunes are just to get you safely started anyway and a custom tune is definately advisable.

Thanks for the info Hawg.
As for it not working on the '06, go to diablosport.com and follow the instructions on how to download the revision for the '06. I had the same problem. When I plugged in the tuner it would not recognize the car, so I contacted Diablo. they advised I would need to get the revision. I went to radioshack and bought the parts (about $60) to download a new flash to the tuner. Now it works fine. Diablo assured me that the revision includes the tune for specifically for the '06.

$60 worth of parts to download the flash to the tuner? WTH did they have you buy? When I had a Predator I upgraded it every release. All it took was a DB9 serial cable and 12V power supply, both of which came with the tuner.

LOL
Yeah, a power supply, and the db9 cable. I dunno, maybe it only came to around $40 or so. My stupid Radioshack gave me the runaround as they were out of the power connector and serial cable. Had to order it, then the weather got nice so I just made a short roadtrip in the new 'stang to another 'Shack. But it would obviously be cheaper if you already have the power supply. Cheaper yet if you have a laptop with a serial port. Then you can use the car's power. But my Diablo came with nothing.

I didn't care for the Diablo tune that came with my Procharger. It made the car slower than stock when driving it normally. Then when you went WOT it would hesitate for a second before it took off. My tuner sold me an SCT tuner and custom tuned it with that instead. He said the Diablo doesn't have all the necessary parameters to make it run smoothly during both normal and WOT acceleration. The difference with the SCT tune is night and day. The power builds steadily and goes right into it's power curve smoothly. Definitely worth the investment.
