Default New and looking for info

Well, I will be buying a 2006 GT very soon here and I was just wanting to say hello. I was also hoping I could be pointed in the right direction for various websites concerning general info, aftermarket capabilities, and the such. I am really interested in getting into messing around with this bad boy. This will be my first real foray into mechanics and such, but my father is a mechanic so I have a good resource to go to. (No, I am not a kid though) Anyways, hello.

Really! You mean the search function is working!! [:@] That thing never works for me.

Anyway, welcom kcary! Hang out and subscribe to the 2005-06 and 4.6 specific areas, you'll get lots of info and insight. I've been pleasantly surprised by the nice folks here (unlike "other" forums I won't mention), who are willing to answer tech questions patiently. You might want to browse through some of the titles to the posts to find ones regarding "first mods" or other such things. There's no shortage of opinions on what to do first and for this or that reason.

Best,
-j

So what can I do that wouldn't break the warranty? Trying to do all those first so that I can keep my warranty intact as long as possible. I've heard CAI is fine, and I will be doing all my interior/exterior dress up stuff (well some of it) first. How about exhaust or UD pulleys? Anything else performance wise that wouldn't break the warranty?
