Dkano, did they make you buy a helmet?

If you're thinking about getting your own, you can probably find one online for less than a $100 though, just look for a full face helmet.
The one I got is the HJC CS12, you can see it here:

RE: Track Times
Yeah, they were saying if you did under 14 seconds that you would need a full race helmet... They never told me to get one though, but I want one anyway. Next time I go I'll probably get one, that way they can size me and make sure I got the right fit too.

RE: Track Times
yeah, you're right about probably getting the wrong size if you order it online. I had to try two different ones on before I found the perfect one. I had to go with an extra large one (got a big melon!)
The guy said the same thing to me when he asked me what I ran the last time, he said the other helmet was only good for 14s.

RE: Track Times
Hey phrosty, i met you last night, i have the blue auto. Are all your 60ft 2.0? Im lucky to get mine under 2.1. I notice you smoked the pirellis alot, do you think that made the difference. I never did a burnout, i just spun them for a sec or 2
These are all my 60ft times:
Wednesday Night:
1.972
2.009
2.003
2.025
2.121
2.331
Last Night:
2.037
2.035
2.093
2.138
When it comes to burning out, I noticed when I first got my car, if I did a burnout on the street at a light for a couple of seconds just to get all the **** off my tires and heat them up a bit, it would give me better traction and the car would stick more to the road.
But now that I have over 5,000 miles on my tires, and abuse the hell out of them as u can see in this video Me doing some donuts
For some reason at the track when I don't do burnouts I seem to get better times. Not sure why that is, maybe because I have no tread on the tires now? When I get new tires I'll have to test it out.
So the reason I pretty much do the long smoky burnouts before I run is:
(a) I love doing burnouts and at the track I can't get a ticket for it lol
(b) As a crowd pleaser
(c) It looks cool hahaha
It was great meeting you and those other guys though, its nice to see some younger newer mustang owners like myself around my area lol.
Reply back with some of your times, I'm curious about how u did last night! Also we should all get together sometime and go drving or something, maybe start a little club haha

drop your air pressure in the rear tires to 25psi up the fronts to 50psi. do a very light burnout just to clean off the tires and get a little heat in them. place two bags of ice on the intake manifold and t/b for about 20 minutes prior to each run. that was worth .10 sec for me. also remove spare tire jack etc. thats worth about .05 sec. you car really runs good with the mods you have. that brenspeed tune must be good. i think with a good converter and some drag radials you have a mid 12 sec car easy.

I was also running street trim. Jack & Spare tire. Shaker 1000 in the Trunk, 1/4-1/2 tank of gas. Rear tires were set at 25psi, front was 32psi. I was launching around 2000-3000 RPMs, with no warming/cleaning of the tires, traction control turned off.

RE: Track Times
My runs were somewhat similar, 1/2 tank of gas, spare & jack, but for forgot to turn traction control off or turn the overdrive off, don't know if any of them would make a difference. I tried launching from around 2K RPMs once and ended up spinning the tires (I'd never tried doing this before) went out of the staging area, had to hit reverse and go back!
I'll try some different things next Wednesday (like the tip from Spyder) and see what works best. My car is a Mustang shop right now, getting the 3.90 gears installed. The pulleys get here on Tuesday, so I'm getting them installed Wednesday morning.
