Default RE: Can a stock rear end handle over 400 lbs torque

ORIGINAL: mikefan20

Short bus..... I have had mine for over a year and have done very few mods. I mean, shorty antenna and tint on the tail lights. I'm going nuts. I have SLP loudmouth that were suposed to be here today. but I'm saving my money for the big HP gains. Most HP for the $. I want a S/C.
Everyone knows I'm a s/c guy, but take a look at the ET's powerhouse hit with their turbo kit on drag radials with mininal other mods. It does make one think about the possibilites of a turbo kit.

Blackfoot - the main reason they blew the rear was because they twisted the stock driveshaft like a pretzel. Actually they did it twice and then had their own aluminum one-piece fabbed and are selling them now. But no doubt, they had been breaking things like crazy while developing their turbo kits.
