Maybe I just got Lucky but I LOVE my FlowMasters and have never had a problem (knock on wood). I guess it's good to know that if they DO go bad, I was the person who got them so i can get them fixed and I still have the original mufflers and mid-pipe that came with my car (for inspection passing *wink*)

Brent has put together a fairly large sound file with different exhaust combinations.
Well I ordered the Pypes Violators from Brenspeed. I'm sure they'll work out much better. On the Flowmaster front...the dealership is trying to contact the original owner to find out where he got the mufflers so we can get a receipt. We'll see what happens....
Well, I'm glad these problems started occuring after we bought our flowmaster's lol. WOW now i'm probably gonna start having problems.
The funny thing is that I begged my dad not to get the flowmaster's in the first place because there is almost no improvement from the old ones. I actually kinda hope that we have problems with ours, that way my dad may start listening to me more lol.

I bought the car with 8k miles on with flowmaster 'american thunder' already on it.
I could hear the rattle on the test drive but figured it was loose and could be tightened.,
Got a good deal on the 'o5 gt vert and so I could overlook somethings.
After seeing this thread, I called flowmaster and told them I had a rattle, they (Jeff) said they had problems with a few of the first ones, and went off to ask about the warrentee.
Nick came back on and said no problem, he'll cover them under warrentee! No questions or problems!
The replacements cam today and I am to ship back the old ones at their expense.
They have seen the light?

If you did get the car with the mufflers already on them then you actually didnt do business to "never deal with them again" did you?
Fact is that if they gave everyone without PROOF of buying the mufflers a new set or money back.... then theyd have false reports up the wazooo.
You cant blame them for that.
You can say.. hey they suck cuz the mufflers break... but as for the reciept and such..
theres nothing wrong with thier policy. It protects them against fraud.

They could just say that if you don't have the original paperwork in your name that you have to actualy ship them the defective product to review a replacement... *shrug* no real way to fudge on that.
Unless there was a truckload of Flowmaster mufflers stolen, proof of purchase in this case is only a formality. If Flowmaster muffler company has a flowmaster muffler returned to them with loose baffles inside, it's defective. You can protect yourself against whatever fraud there is in that till you go out of business, or you can stand behind your product, and make lifetime customers. The internet is an extremely powerful media, and bad news travels fast.

sure there is if there was a person taking apart a car that wasnt his and decided to do it.
Which sounds insane but people are insane I assure you.

::edit:: On second thought...what does it even matter if the mufflers are stolen mufflers? The damned things are defective no matter who returns them, and that is all flowmaster should be concerned about in my book.
