Flowmaster sucks.....
Baffle plates in mufflers have crappy welds that break....and then vibrate like crazy at nasty high pitched tones......
Ok, so I've posted about this in several other threads but I thought I need to start a new one as I have now spoken to flowmaster directly. I called and spoke to three different people just to make sure they were screwing me around, let me tell u FLOWMASTER SUCKS. The first guy I talked to completely acknowledged and confessed that this was a known problem and that flowmaster was sending out new mufflers to people that had this happen. But my problem was that I bought my car with the mufflers on it, so I have no warranty info or receipt, and flowmaster won't honor the warranty unless your the original purchaser, even though they know they sent out a bunch of bad mufflers. There should be a recall. After expressing my opinion to the guy he told me he would speak to a manager and see what he could do for me. He called me back about an hour later saying that the best they could do is sell me a new pair at wholesale value ($202)....Yeah right, I have one set of your mufflers that went bad so I'm gonna pay u for two more of them, let me take another hit off my crack pipe and I'll get back to u. So on to the second guy, He denied all the way that flowmaster knew of any problem with the mufflers, and said I should avoid believing anything I read on these forums, even though I have a bad set on my car....might be my imagination? He said the only way they could do anything for me is if I mailed in a written letter stating my problem with the mufflers, and part number etc. and what I wanted. Again I want new freakin mufflers nowww. My car sounds like a wazoo. So the third guy, also totally denied knowing of any problem, even though the first guy admitted to having a "rash" of calls all about the same thing. So this guy told me that there is absolutely nothing they could do, there's absolutely no way that they can even process a warranty request since I didn't actually purchase the mufflers and didn't have a receipt or purchase date. Not even a discount, not that I would take it, I was just looking for something.
I also called Brent from brenspeed who also said he's had people send them back to him for the same thing, and actually had a pair there now with the problem. Anyway, I'll never deal with flowmaster again, and the dealer is giving me the run around to but thats another story. I'm thinking of putting on the Pypes violators, because I'm worried that the loudmouths will be to loud. Brent said the violator's r still straight through pipes but not nearly as loud as the loud mouths (which he said most people send back because they r to loud with an O/R H). Anyone have the Pypes violators with an O/R H? If so how r they? Any other suggestions? I'm not looking to spend more then $300 for mufflers.....

That sucks why don't you put up their phone number so I can give them a call.
I imagine that if a few dozen people call them and threaten to "boycott", not buy their product rather, for not standing behind thier stuff, I bet they will give you another.
POST THEIR NUMBER, As well as the name of thier management guys, I'll call them tomorrow.

1-800-544-4761, flowmastermufflers.com, as for names of management I don't know, I didn't even push to talk to management, I guess I should but I really don't even want to give them the time of day. If they want to treat a customer like this then I'll just let people know about it, I shouldn't have to push. The only name I got was the first guy I talked to, I wrote it down at home along with his ext. but its at home and I'm at work, I'll post it in the morning, lol. I hope they get flooded with calls....Thanks.
You need to talk to the manager dude. If he doesn't respond well, try and get hold of the vice president....president or owner next.
If all that fails you call the WHITE HOUSE. :P
Seriously call the manager tomorrow and post here what they do next. I will hit them after you.

I have the pypes offroad h-pipe and flows and it sounds great. Except for the rattle and I have talked to a guy from flowmaster and I am sending mine back for a new pair. I will then sell them and buy a different brand I am in the same boat as you all and will never buy flowmaster again. Good luck
Dan - ext. 451, thats the guy who said he would give me a new set at wholesale, and who admitted to knowing about the problem. Let me know if u guys call. I'm gonna try to get a manager on the phone today...I surely will keep everyone posted.
I would suggest that you also contact the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and see what they say.
I'm sure Flowmaster wouldn't want to get a call from them.
Just my .02
Good luck!

Maybe I just got Lucky but I LOVE my FlowMasters and have never had a problem (knock on wood). I guess it's good to know that if they DO go bad, I was the person who got them so i can get them fixed and I still have the original mufflers and mid-pipe that came with my car (for inspection passing *wink*)
