Default New Oil Pan? - READ FIRST

I got the morroso aluminum Elliminator oil pan so I could hold more oil in the car. It was brought to my attention that the sensor (oil temp) is a metric thread and will not fit the bung on any morrosso oil pan (aluminum or steel)

I did lots of research and this is what I found out -

The early model 05's do in fact have a metric thread oil temp sensor but Ford has already corrected the problem. Late model 05's and all 06's now come with a 3/8 inch oil temp sensor. As all Morroso oil pans have a 1/2" bung, all you need is a 1/2" to 3/8" adapter and it will work fine. If for some reason, you have the metric sensor, then you can go to a ford dealer and get part #F5AZ-12A648-AB (it is the 3/8" sensor) - it costs about $34.00

I believe it is 1 extra quart, the Moroso Eliminator Oil pan holds 7 quarts.

Yes - the pan holds approximately 7 1/2 quarts (though they advertise 7 to be on the safe side) - your stock only holds 5 quarts. It is the oil filter that actually holds another quart so with the stock your at 6 and with the morrrosso you're at 8 1/2. I actually wanted to hold 10 quarts but the 7 quart is the biggest you can go on the S197 so I just had to be happy with the extra 2 1/2 quarts.

Thanks ghost - it took me awhile to figure it out but that's what we're doing. I'm attempting to mimic the GT cooling sytem:
