Default Best no-tune CAI

I know it's a question similar to many others already posted (I've read mose of them), but what is the best CAI available that doesn't require a tune? By doesn't require I mean decent HP gain and not going to void my warranty or break my car. My '06 is bone stock (tinting, big whoop) and I'd like to get a little more out of her, but I just don't want to screw with the whole tuning thing.

Thanks

To be honest with you, tuning isn'tthat hard. Its a matter of plug in, press tune, and go. But, if you only want a little HP, i would suggect the K&N Aircharger kit. They say that they don't need a tune to run their system.

anything that gives you any gains requires a tune.

K&N boasts a 15HP increase...no tune. K&N says that their kit requires no tune. [8D]

I think you'll be LUCKY to get 5 HP without a tune.

Think about it for a bit: Where does the extra power from a CAI come from? The CAI lets your engine suck in more air. (The "cold" part is simply icing on the cake.) More air does little (or nothing) by itself, except make you run lean. But, when combined with more gasoline it makes power. The computer is unable to supply the extra fuel without a tune. That's why most people do CAI+tune.

You can install an intake upgrade like the K&N, but unless you also tune you'll only be getting a fraction of the possible gains. And like FredTT said, tuning is EASY. You just plug in the tuner, push a button or two, wait about two minutes, and you'e done. If you can dial a telephone you can tune your car, it's THAT easy. Plus a tuner is nice to have around if you do any future mods, or if you need to read trouble codes, etc.

There is really only one out there that does not require a tune. It's the wmsracing CAI.I installed one last fall with the ram air box.I got a good deal on it through a group buy on another forum.I do not have a tune installed bone stock and have had NO issues with it ,no CEL's or any problems with it. Did not haveit dyno'd but definitely has improved proformance and a little bit better with the throttle response. If interested in the whole package I believe one of this Forum advertisers is Brenspeed check them out.

I looked for the article and couldn't find the post, but it compared CAIs and it show the K&N adding exactly the hp advertised and only a few more with the tune. Maybe someone will post the link..
I have the K&N and just got my tuner from Fred and just waiting to finish my tank of regular to install it. If your going to add the K&N it did help and sounds good, but save your bucks and get a tune also.

If you're talking about the CAI shootout article on 5.0 Stang & Super Fords, I sent him a PM with the link.
