Default 2005 GT RWHP Headers ??????????

I own a 2005 Black on Black 5 speed, GT "Tokico D-spec struts, Eibach swaybars & Springs, 20" Foose nitrus staggered wheels, Magnaflow catback & K&N intake system. I was thinking about adding headers, Does anybody out there know if this will produce more RWHP??? Only answer if you know from experience on 05. I also will not be doing a tune or flash. Anybody know if I will get more RWHP from headers, combined with my other mods??? Next ? what brand, as always any response from the STABLE is very much appreciated. Thanks G TORSMO Michael

I think with pretty much any modification, you will need to get a tune/reflash to recieve any real gains. Plus, certain modifications, left untuned, could make you lose power/hurt your vehicle. IE making it run too lean or rich, and so on. I think a long tube setup could most likely net you a sizeable amount of RWHP, if tuned correctly. Some of the other guys who have the headers done to their cars could give you a little better insight on this, however.

you will def get a power gain without a tune, but WITH a tune you will get quite a bit more power out of them, and will avoid possibly running the engine too lean (which would be damaging over time)

How would headers lean out the a/f mix?

To answer the Q, LT headers, and o/r xpipe, should get you around 25 rwhp.

To answer ur question i had dynatech longtube header and a x pipe with high flow cats installed and drove my car for a week and then had a mmr cai and sct2 programmer 89 canned tune installed and mad 293hp and 315 lbtq and i think it still runs lean because it is throwing a code still p2195 ( right bank 02 senser stuck lean).. so im getting it dyno tuned on tues.. i think it was running lean with the headers w/o the cai.. so if i was u i would also get a tuner.. but it might be fine with out it.. and i love my headers i got the whole kit with x-pipe and 02 extension gaskets and all the bolts for $1100.. hope that this is helpful..

more air through engine=more air per stroke, and unless the computer is recalibrated to also deliver more gas, you result in a lean condition. sometimes the cpu will adjust on its own, sometimes it won't, but regardless a dyno tune will be better either way

headers won't allow more air into the engine, they'll just allow the burnt mix to exit more smoothly and quickly.

I installed a set of hooker longtubes and hooker x pipe to magnaflow exhaust, no tune necessary according to the guys at Roush. Only when the air/fuel going in is changing, rate of burn, etc.. I got some improvment, but the sound is AWESOMe, if you dont mind it loud when you romp on it.
