Default Sound from the CAI

I love the puff of air sound the CAI makes when it sucks in air. If you have your foot off the gas and you tap it just right it makes a cool sound of air puffing. People must be able to hear it when I do it, because it always makes people look. Any of you guys know what I'm talking about?

well i've never been in a car with a CAI, but i know that it sure as hell sounds different from the outside. some guy with a K&N CAI revved his 06 stang GT for me once, the thing sounds mean as hell, more throaty, and definetly louder (maybe cause he had the hood open.)

Not once have I heard any sounds from my CAI... I must not be listening for the right sound, or my exhaust has always been too loud to cover it up.

Yeah, I heard it too after I installed K&N CAI. Brought (albeit brief) memories of my WRX after UTEC upgrade

A week or so later as I noticed what sounded like a pinging noise as I was driving. I started flipping out thinking that my valves were clicking when I tapped gas. Turned out that it was that same "sucking" noise you hear from CAI when stationary, only attenuated as you move.

Agreed! I love that sound. Can't hear it anymore now because of the Borlas.
