Status: offline Well it is good to know that there have not made a reman 3valve engines. I know you said that it's not abnormal to see a puff here or there, but everytime you start it up and about three to four seconds after you start it up?
I spoke to a Ford rep and he said that the engines usually are broke in at about 200-300 miles because of the type of rings that Ford uses.

All it says about Ford is that the rings are broken in at 200 to 300 miles. I don't see anything unusual there. I have 1100 miles, and if mine was smoking on start-up I would worry.
